I'm Stanislovas Marmokas, a creative based in Vilnius, Lithuania. My journey in the arts has led me through a diverse range of projects that blend fine arts, graphic design, and digital media.
I started out as a painter, exploring themes like iconography and historical figures. One of my notable works is a diptych that juxtaposes my grandmother’s smile with that of Joseph Stalin. The project was part of a series called "A Human Smile", where I sought to "deiconize" dictators by focusing on their human aspects, such as a simple smile. The project was deeply personal and aimed at reshaping how we view icons from the past.
Over time, I ventured into film and television, working as a graphic designer and draughtsman. One of my proudest contributions was to the HBO series "Catherine the Great" (2019), where I worked on the creation of graphic assets and props that helped bring the period setting to life. In "Vesper" (2022), I was part of the art department, contributing as a draughtsman, which allowed me to explore more technical aspects of design.
My work in TV didn’t stop there. I also had the opportunity to contribute to projects like "Headhunters" (2022), where I expanded my skills in visual storytelling by designing elements that supported the narrative. Each of these projects, while rooted in different genres, allowed me to merge historical context with modern design techniques, a challenge I find both exciting and rewarding.
Beyond film and TV, my work extends into motion graphics, product design, and UI design, with projects ranging from "Trinnov Audio" to "Catherine the Great" and other creative ventures. My artistic journey has been about constantly experimenting and pushing boundaries, whether I’m creating a traditional painting or designing for a large-scale production.
This blending of disciplines is what keeps me inspired, and I’m excited to continue creating across various mediums, always seeking new ways to bring stories to life.
